The funeral for Colonel General Günther Korten who served as the Chief of the General Staff of the Luftwaffe. He was wounded in the July assassination attempt on Hitler’s life and later succumbed to his wounds. His funeral was held in August 1944 and he was hailed a hero.

Elisabeth “Lilo” Gloeden photographed standing before her judges
Elisabeth, along with her husband and mother, was convicted of hiding a fugitive from the July 20 Plot to assassinate Hitler and the three were executed by beheading in Plotzensee Prison on November 30th, 1944.
