Passenger list of 2D BN, 506th PIR, 101st Airborne for Operation Overlord
The highest ranking officer on the plane was 1st Lt Thomas Meehan, who was the head of Easy Company. They, like so many other planes, were shot down during the night drop of Overlord and all men perished. As a result, Richard Winters took command of the company.
