Telegraph officers standing before destroyed buildings of RAF Biggin Hill thanks to a German air raid. During the raid, all three women (Sgt Joan E. Mortimer, Flight Officer Elspeth C. Henderson and Sgt Helen Turner of the WAAF) stayed at their posts despite the threat to their lives, 1 Sept 1940.
