The remains of the RAF eagle on the wall of the barn in Fowlmere, where the RAF’s No. 19 Squadron was stationed in 1940 during the Battle of Britain.
While the eagle was originally painted to be a simple Christmas decoration for the squadron’s celebration, it has survived nearly 71 years up against the elements and remains on the barn wall to this day.
