“Guard left behind by the retreating Waffen-SS. I found him hiding in one of the latrines. I [sic] few minutes after this photo was taken, on [sic] of the surviving inmates snuck up behind me and this prisoners [sic] and sank a piece of number about 2 inches x 4 inches (5 cm x 10 cm) into his head. He died instantly.”
